And i dont like the sidemount there at all, just has to be there till i find a nice FMIC that will fit and then redo the piping.

you only need to hook up two power wires and one ground to make it run, its that easy. i thought it was going to tough like that, and i hate wiring. but when it fired up i did a dance and could not belive it was that easy.

So do i cut the wires out of the dsm? since the alt. wires were not connected to the engine harness. Or do i use the truck alt. wires? the truck engine harness is out of the truck to. so do i need to plug it back in and use the truck alt wires>?

this is based on the fact you will use existing D-50 wires and plug them into a Mits Eclipse Alt

I like to remember them this way:

B = Big
L = Light
S = Signal / Sensing / Stimulator

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

So L the blue wire runs to the dash and the other B and S run to the + on the battery right? or wrong?

does the L have to be hooked up? does it serve as a ground or something? or can i leave that undone for now?

The L needs to be hooked up to the light (or a resistor) or the alternator will not generate electric.

The other 2 wires should both go to the battery. You can actually connect the S wire to the B wire but the alt might not generate the correct voltage if there is too much voltage drop between the battery and the alternator. To get accurate voltage to the battery its best to run S all the way to the battery.

exhaust manifold

Post by Ron Marston »

What exhaust manifold are you using in your project D50? Looks like it moves the turbo away from the motor more than the stock manifold for the 4g63.

He flipped the turbo around so it faces the opposite direction. The manifold is the stock 4g63 manifold. Since it's a tangential housing it moves it away when mounted like this.

I personally can't stand how it looks.
