how to wire a 1g n/a 4g63

Post by carguyf545 »

i tore the whole wiring (expect the ecu harness) harness out of the car last year. on saterday i started to wire it up. i thought the crapy book i have and the info on the site would lead me through it.

im not useing the stock gauges. i just need to know what i need to give power and ground. i was going to make a new circut for the fuel pump. this should be real simple, but it think im retarded, and or stupid when it comes to wiring.

Get an ECU pin out and trace each wire out to its interior plug (the clean ones ) and label each wire. Cut the plugs off and gather all of the labeled wires together. This bundle should have everything in it you need and since you labeled it all so well you don't even need to worry about wire colors.

If you have this going into your race car just figure out how you want to wire up your ignition and constant electrics and tie into that.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

i used what you have put up on your wiring swap. but im a little fuzzy on what i need to hook up. im going to use the stock ignition and key. im getting a fuse block to hook up constant power and switched power. mechanical gauges and an aftermarket tac.
the book i have is very broad and not much help. your site helped me more.

If you don't already have the pinouts figured out, here's a site to help you.

http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ecu-harness-1G.html

http://www.VFAQ.com is the best site for common DSM stuff.

the beast runs.it started right up, well after i put a fresh battery and retarded the timing, and put gas in it. it pured like a kitten, everything seems to run well, when i hook up a check engine light we will see.

i can't belive how easy it was to hook up the ecu. it was three wires, backup, a turn on power and ground the clutch safty switch.

CHILTONS SUCK!!!!!! project og rules.
