Well, I finally got my engine out of the front clip galant I got a few months ago. I was doing some test measurements with my FRH manifold, and I don't think its going to fit in the engine bay
. The end of the plenum sits about 2 inches further towards the firewall then the stock manifold, and it is also a lot lower. I was really hoping to use this thing :-/. The stock manifold's TB location sits on the same plane as the end of the valve cover or so... the FRH manifold sticks out as far as the CAS. Maybe a miracle will happen... or maybe I can just bang in the brake booster
(or find another, smaller, one that will work).

Oh the front clip I got for the motor swap was a cyclone engine anyway, so I've got all the hardware for that, though I think I'd rather have a USDM manifold.
The measurements on the manifold sticking out from the head are (and its tough to measure, since it requires use of this inch thick phelonic spacer, so to actually bolt it on, I would need to swap the studs that it comes with):
The side of the plenum that faces the driver side fender to the head: about 9 inches
The end of the plenum towards the firewall is EXACTLY flush with the valve cover. Meaning, you could take a straight edge, and put it on the back of the plenum and over to the valve cover, and it'd be perfect
.
Also, the manifold sits almost STRAIGHT off the head, and doesn't curve up at all.
You think you could check to see if you think it would fit? The key here would be, first, to see if the valve cover was where the intake manifold... would it clear the brake booster. And secondly, is there actually enough room below it where the steering box is (which I think so). That'd be a huge help.

Hey, those measurements on that manifold are:
From head-mating surface to the Fender-side of the plenum: 9 inches ( and remember this sits STRAIGHT off the head, not curving up like the stocker)
Length of plenum: 17 inches
Near the brake booster, the end of the plenum lines up PERFECTLY with the last manifold stud, if that makes sense.
Maybe Joe (or DJ even) see if these measurements will fit?

If it is straight with no releifs cut... not gonna happen. 6.75-7.25 at the most will go safely.
That is coming straight off the furthest bolt, at the rear most edge of the machined flange. ( will just about put you halfway into the master cyl, not to mention the brake boosted because it curves out... [/quote]
Yeah, thats exactly what I was afraid of... thanks a ton for checking.
