4g63 wideblock vs. 4g63 narrowblock difference
I just found this forums last nite and have been readin them for a trans swap info for a 4g63 into a 4x4 toyta pickup. If the threads people keep saying 4g63 4g64 wide and narrowblock what is the diffence. I have never heard these terms when it comes to dsms.

is this is asked so frequently it should be in the FAQ. Anyways i know that 1g dsm are called 6 bolts and are considered among most eclipsers the better choice as the 2g dsm have the 7 bolt motor and it way more prone to crank walk. Then a cheap upgrade for internals in 1g rods with 2g pistons I think. but i have never heard a mention the narrowblock or wideblock.

I am also aware the evo motor is basically a a 4g63 in a mirror as everthing is on the opposite end but the 2 share no parts. Also Bill I was reading a bellhousing thread and read that you own shops in toledo and live in michigan, what part? I am from monroe and my parents live there but right now i am in Chicago attending UTI. This morning in the street legal class someone blowup the 2g GST on the dyno with they put the wrong size nitrous jets into it. Giving it something like a 300 shot on stock internals, sent a piston flying through the side of the block.

Haha, Miniature ponies are down-right funny. I burst out laughing every single time I see one.tonydanzah wrote:Erie, what a small world. One of my best friends just bought a house in Erie. he lives off what ever road on telegraph south that has the "BAR & GRILL" on the corner. Small blue ranch style house with the miniature pony yard that runs behind his house and several other of the houses.
(I guess we really got off topic on this one. From Toyota's ---->wideblocks---->Bellhousings---->Michigan---->Nitrous---->and now to miniature ponies. Nice work!)

We have a FAQ?
Fucking miniature ponies and getting tied up. Justine is going to love this thread!
FAQ might be a good idea though.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

Wideblocks cannot be found in either 6 bolt or 7 bolt DSMs. They are only found in trucks and vans.tonydanzah wrote:can a wide block be found on both 1g and 2g dsms. Is their both 6 bolt and 7 bolt wide and narrow blocks these are the answers i was looking for.

Only 2.6 manual rwd are wide-block, according to this site.
Pickup trucks, Starion, Galant, Sapporo, Scorpion
Everything else, including all auto and transverse engines should be narrow block.
