The Turbo Truck is officially for sale. This started off as a basic 1990 Dodge D50 pickup (same as a Mitsubishi Mighty Max) with a 2.4L SOHC Mitsubishi 4 cylinder and 5 speed manual transmission. Basically, I swapped on a 4G63 DSM cylinder head, added custom manifold, 20G turbo, DSM ECU, custom wiring, water injection, custom 2 1/2" exhaust, rebuilt bottom end, and etc. This is a work in progress that I am running out of time and space to work on. At $2500 obo, it is priced at the point where I would let it go, but part of me would much rather complete the project, so I have no qualms about hanging on to it for another 6 months or so (Currently, I have a few people interested in purchasing it after tax time).
Up until recently, I didn't have too much money in it really (used mostly parts I had laying around), then I put $400 pistons and a $400 clutch in it, not to mention machine work and new gaskets, etc. Here is a list of the most current spec's on the truck.
It runs fine. It just needs some "finishing touches". Right now it does not have heat, A/C, a radio, working tach, or power steering. Also, since I rebuilt the engine, it might have 400 miles on it or so. And after driving a modified DSM for eight years, it takes longer than that for it to prove its reliability. I do plan on adding a radio, heat, and making the tach and power steering work by this summer, if I still have it. Also, to finish up the performance side, I would add 510cc injectors (these sell with the truck), 2G MAS, and AFC (this sells with the truck). Maybe even paint the thing, too.
I basically used this truck as a knowledge building experiment and not something I was trying to make "cool". I have plans to complete the venture to make it a finished product, not just someone else's incomplete project car. I would rather sell it to a knowledgeable person that I know would have the ability and know-how to make this truck into what it was supposed to be.
If you are interested in purchasing this, please email me at the email address below. The truck is currently located in Clayton, OH (Northwest Dayton, 45315).
