Torque Arrestor. A Cheap alternative to poly mounts.

I built this after talking to Shelby a few years ago when I was tearing rubber mounts. After seeing the car on the dyno, I know it works. The mounts leave plenty of movement and are soft so it doesnt shake the car up at all. You can see the engine move up to the stop and it does just that. It just stays right there. The engine does torque back pretty hard so I might do the same the passenger side.

So anyways. Its cheap and easy and it works.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

So what exactly is that? Is it just a peice of metal that restricts the movement of the rubber mount?

Sure is. It doesnt touch anything unless its under load. It does have room for movement, but stops it before any damage can be done.
