After my motor seized a few weeks ago,... I took it apart and found I spun a bearing,... finally after working with the whether and availablilty of parts I finally have everything together and assembled,.. but yet I have no start,.. I have crank, but no start,...
Worst off the cars not at my house so I don't know for sure if I'm a victim of fowl play,.. but I sure wish I could rule out the possiblity,..
another thing issue that plages my attention is that I removed the alternator,... but didn't disconnect my battery first,.. i know it was stupid but I was rushing and tired and attempting to save time,.. to say the least a small wire on my positive terminal caught fire and burned threw about one inch long before I took notice of the smoke and put it out. I wired a bridge between the two points,.. hoping that was the full extent of the damage.
Now I have everything back together, and I have crank which is more then what i had before but no start, I didn't remove the crank or timing chain,.. I did however remove the distributor,... which makes me wonder,... How exact does the distributor have to be reinstalled!? it seems to be fine,...
plz help
fraustrated starquester,...
p.s. I also had a low battery after not starting the vechicle for two weeks, I did however try and jump start the car,... the battery did seem to eventually have charged up enough juice for a start-up but all I got was after cranks with no start.
wasn't sure if this was electricial. or mechincal
