You may as well remove the 3 capacitors and see how bad it really is. Clean the board with whatever you got. I used acrysol as a solvent and alcohol as a rinse.

They really aren't hard to repair. Just look for where the acid may have eaten through the traces in the board, and if needed reconnect them. Then solder in your new capacitors and test.

I have seen some tutorials on repairing the traces of the board. Usually involves reconnecting them with solder, a wire, or conductive pen. I'll see if I can find links.

Soldering iron, desoldering braid, and solder can all be had at radioshack. The only thing you'd need are the capacitors.
