2.4 VS 2.14 theory

Post by saturnshadow »

ok.....
Theoretical CFM = CID * RPM /3464 therefore...

2.14L = 130.56 ci *9000 / 3464 = 339.21cfm Piston Speed MPS 26.4
2.14L = 130.56 ci *9500 / 3464 = 358.06cfm Piston Speed MPS 27.8
2.14L = 130.56 ci *10000 / 3464 = 376.90cfm Piston Speed MPS 29.3
2.14L = 130.56 ci *10500 / 3464 = 395.75cfm Piston Speed MPS 30.8
2.14L = 130.56 ci *11000 / 3464 = 414.59cfm Piston Speed MPS 32.2

2.4L = 146.45 ci * 7000 / 3464 = 295.94cfm Piston Speed MPS 23.3
2.4L = 146.45 ci * 7500 / 3464 = 317.02cfm Piston Speed MPS 25.0
2.4L = 146.45 ci * 8000 / 3464 = 338.221cfm Piston Speed MPS 26.7
2.4L = 146.45 ci * 8500 / 3464 = 359.36cfm Piston Speed MPS 28.3
2.4L = 146.45 ci * 9000 / 3464 = 380.50cfm Piston Speed MPS 30.0

interesting....
think about it

I'll give you one thing.. it IS theoretical :-D. 2.4L reving to 9K... can we really? I'm eventually going to try the 2.1... but not for CFM... 11K will just sound awesome. Haha. Take that destroked 1.6L corrolla!

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

the piston is moving slower 9k 2.4 then a 11k 2.14. soo....... why is it said to be able to rev alot higher on a 2.14?

2.6L = 158.62 ci * 8000 / 3464 = 366.33cfm Piston Speed MPS 26.13

Now we all know the g54b head is ass so it is not going to flow that.
