They have some differnet parts on their motors that make this all a bit easier. This guy has a great setup though.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

That's about what I was thinking, only using a tight radius bend instead of a 90* angle. The only thing I don't like about this one is that the thermostat is so far from the actual outlet of the head. And, since all the fittings are on the thermostat housing, it would be messy to run heater hoses and things from the front like that. Maybe mount the housing at the rear of the manifold. Or just run it like Perigrine. I like his except that damn hose is too close to the manifold for me. Maybe we could even use the stock lower water pipe to run coolant forward. I guess I should get to work and stop therorizing. :?
