Sheeesh.. This "paid to do it right" thing is hard to swallow. $262 for a driveshaft that uses my old starion yolks in the back. It measures 23" from u-joint to u-joint (my engine sits only about 1/2" back from stock).
I did get some Spicer part numbers for the front yolk though. Here's the break down:
3-1306-1X - RX7 U-joint - $19.98 (w / grease fitting :-/)
2603-25 - RX7 Slip Yolk - $69.70
2626-31 - Welded Yolk - $45.25
5-1516 - Starion U-joint - $25.05 (w / grease fitting :-/)
3x083x2 - 20" of 3" tube - $40.00 (WTF?)
Balance - Free I guess?
Paint - Free I guess?
Labor - $50 (can't complain about that)
And tax $12.50

Total $262.48
The quality of my $50 driveshaft from the first swap was just as good if not better. Oh well. At least I didnt have to bother my dad or uncle this time, and this has $160 worth of new parts on it. I guess I'm just cheap by nature.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.
once again the import guy gets ripped off

Yeah, definatly has something to do with it. I bet I could have just said it was from a Corvette and they would have just charged me less for the same parts. They couldnt find anything to replace the Starion rear yolk with something beefier. Oh well. I'll probably just order the spicer parts next time and do it myself.
