i run a th-350. have you found your flexplate yet? if not then check out buschur racing under the rwd section. their flekplate is sfi certified and they sell convertors too. i must warn you they are pricy but they are very nice pieces. all billet. i have all the buschur stuff and i couldnt be happier. my convertor was supposed to be a 5000 stall but it feels closer to 3800-4000. ill find out next week when i get my tranny back in with the transbrakeblue_crush wrote:Im using the TH-400 tranny and now im down to what stall convertor to run? im looking in the stall speeds of 4000-4500 rpms. yeh im gunna be buyin their flywheel in a day or 2. Im not so sure about their stall converter though. i did find a nice 10" TCI that stalls out at 4000-4500. i need to do somemore research though before i purchase anything.
Let me know about your trans brake, im interested in runnin one myself.

you cant just buy any off the shelf converter. the steps on it that bolt it to the flexplate are totally custom as is a bunch of other stuff. trust me i went through all this already. i bought my transbrake from a place called transking out of texas. its a real nice unit and ive heard nothing but good things about them. best thing was the price. i got a full manual reverse pattern brake with solenoid for $375 to my door. do some pricing on brakes and youll see that thats a great deal for something like that.blue_crush wrote:yeh im gunna be buyin their flywheel in a day or 2. nice deal on the break. i talked to a custom car fab shop that i bought my tranny from and they said that if i bought the special flywheel from buschur that they can addapt, redrill, and rebalance any converter that i bought. What kinda problems did you run into when you tried this. Im interested to know so i dont make a costly mistake.

i never tried i just heard horror stories. one guy tried it and the steps were the wrong height and it sheared off his pump shaft. that was enough for me.blue_crush wrote:nice deal on the break. i talked to a custom car fab shop that i bought my tranny from and they said that if i bought the special flywheel from buschur that they can addapt, redrill, and rebalance any converter that i bought. yeah i love it. the fitment is perfect. ill find out soon what exactly it stalls at. my front brakes are very small so the car rolls out when i try to brake stall it. with the transbrake itll be easy to see what it stalls at. i seriously think its worth the money if theres even a doubt in your mind if the tranny shop can do it. he sells his convertors for $950 now but they are trick 8" convertors so theyre actually not that much more than you would pay for one for a domestic.blue_crush wrote:i guess ill buy the flexplate and take it to the custom tranny shop and see what they have to say. but didnt you say you liked your buschur stall converter?evern though you felt it stall out sooner than it was supposed to.

yeah thats it. look under my posts for a full write up. its a 73 dodge colt aka mitsu galant. the motor bolted right up with mighty max motor mounts. no shit. i even used the stock tranny crossmember modded. the car is insane fast at only 12 psi. im a little scared to turn it up to 20 which is right where my turbo starts to get efficient.
