1G AWD dsm weighs in at just under 3200 lbs. If you took out the rear and passenger seats you'd be somewhere in the ballpark of even Steven.

Gvr4s are around 3300lbs. Some 2gs are as well. There are 3300-3500lb mitsus with NA 4g6Xs stock. People will 4g6Xt swap 3000gts and they are around 3800lbs.

Nothing swapping the final drive wouldn't fix
Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.
