Magnus Motorsports Ebay Special RWD Adapted 4G63T Intake
Hey everyone,
I guess I'm a noob to this site, although I have been using it extensively for my 4g63t swap into my '88 Mighty Max. I picked up another 4g63t and mighty max transmission today from a guy who gave up on his swap project, and he had bought a sheet metal intake from ebay from Magnus Motorsports, similar to this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/sheet-me ... 2736QQrdZ1
He said he spent $250 on the intake, and then he hacked it up. It isn't the prettiest thing, but with a little work with a grinder, and then a coat of paint, it should look great. I'm asking $150 for the intake, I'll need to keep the throttle body as shown in the photo, but please contact me if you are interested. I know I'm a noob, and I don't have any trader ratings or anything, but please feel free to review my eBay feedback for dtl1218, its 100% since Sept. 2001.

Geez, I give up. If anyone wants the intake from this forum please just email me with your offer. Its amazing how you post something for sale and have people that aren't in the market to buy your item complain about it. Whether or not the two replies are friendly jabs or not, I can't tell, I haven't participated on this forum long enough. I received this intake with an engine and transmission, and a bunch of other parts. I did not originally purchase the intake nor modify it to its current state. Yes I know it is steel, and not aluminum which I know is a better material because it would have heat expansion properties much like the aluminum head. If you're going to debate that point, then why use an engine like the 4g63t in the first place since it uses an iron block and aluminum head also with an iron exhaust manifold that experiences very high temperatures? As far as heat soak into the manifold, a heat disspating spacer could be used if so concerned. I'm just trying to raise some funds to finish up my truck swap, so please cut me some slack guys. I know alot about cars and how to work on them, but I'm new to the turbo world and this is my first attempt at ever doing such a project. I'd like to feel that I can contribute to this forum, and not feel pushed out.

well first off your headline is totally misleading as the intake is neither a magnus or sheetmetal (aluminum). secondly the price you have for that is so high its ridiculous. im not here to drive you out at all but anyone that knows anything about cars at all would say that thing is a piece of shit. i truly hope to see you go all the way with your project so dont take anything said on this thread personally.dtl1218 wrote:Geez, I give up. Other stuff for sale....
I guess I've accumulated alot of crap so far that I could part with. I had the chance to pick over a demolition derby'd early 90's 1.8 liter laser, so I have a starter, mas and intake piping, alternator, fuse boxes, throttle body, clutch master cylinder, brake master cylinder. I actually have the brake and clutch pedal assembly if anyone needs it, I took it in case I need to switch to a hydraulic clutch.
Here's a few pics of what's in my 1.8 liter box, let me know if you need anything:

I also have a spare '88 Mighty Max transmission, I'm still debating on whether I should sell it or not. I have a 1990 Eclipse harness and ecu, ignition components, 1991 TSI stock intake manifold, thermostat housing, alternator, starter, mighty max and 4g63t water lines that wrap around the block from the water pump, mighty max flywheel and starter. I know I probably have more, so just shoot me a message if you need something. Here's a few pics of the parts mentioned above, don't worry, I'm not going to use the intercooler piping that I received with my engine:

I also have four stock mighty max wheels and tires, but those will be for burnouts once the clutch is broken in.
Also, I still have the shitty steel manifold if anyone wants it :p
And yes, it sucks not having a garage or shed and having to put all this crap in the crawlspace, but I have plans to build a shed when the truck is done. I had to buy a thick sheet of pressure treated plywood for when I removed and installed the engines from the TSI and truck.
Lastly, and most importantly, I have the '91 TSI shell for sale, it has alot of aftermarket parts left. Here's two links for the TSI.

At some point you're going to throw that stuff out. I have a BIG shed full of stuff, a parts care full of stuff and a basement full of stuff that I told my self I'd sell. Hehehe.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

I do have a 1g mass air sensor and intake. I can let you have the 1g intake if you want it, I don't have enough clearance to use it in my engine bay. I picked up a 2g MAS that I'm going to put on once I have the engine running ok with the 1g MAS. It will probably be a few weeks to a month and a half until I'm able to sell the 1g MAS, but just let me know if you want to have the intake for now.

I forgot, but I do have the MAS that cam with the 1.8 liter, if they're the same as the 4g63t type MAS, then I can sell you that one now. I'll compare them side by side and I'll try to look for part numbers unless you know that they're the same part.
