balance shafts

balance shafts
i have been told several times how to remove balance shafts. but i am foget full. and i can find anything on the site about removing them. i have two motors that i am removeing the shafts in. one is a weekend warrior and the other is for my race car. both lower ends are stock. any help is needed.

I cut the oil pump balance shaft and had it welded up. I used a freeze plug on the front and turned the other balance shaft bearings to block the holes. Totall cost = $0. You dont need the eliminator kit. One thing I might still do is replace the balance shaft sprocket on the crank with a spacer.
This stuff all came on the Mirage 1.6L Engine which was of the Sirius family, but didnt have balance shafts. So you can just use parts from it:
Balance shaft cap (plug) MD092785
Tensioner Spacer MD128107
Stubby Shaft MD098626
BS bearing, rear MD103722
BS bearing, front MD040597
This stuff all came on the Mirage 1.6L Engine which was of the Sirius family, but didnt have balance shafts. So you can just use parts from it:
Balance shaft cap (plug) MD092785
Tensioner Spacer MD128107
Stubby Shaft MD098626
BS bearing, rear MD103722
BS bearing, front MD040597

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.
