evo 3 head onto starion block

Post by Joombie »

g'day all,
i am wanting to know if it is possible/feasible to put an evo 3 head onto a Starion block?
i have read that there may be some issues with oil drains etc?
have an evo 3 in our Starion rally car and are not happy with the dodgy g/box adaptor it came with and we have a few good Starion blocks we could use if possible.
any feedback much appreciated.
cheers.

Which Starion block are you referring to? G54B (2.6L) or G64B (2.0L)?

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

Have been offline for a while and just saw this.

Suggest you register and or log in to Austarion for Oz Starion info. Twin Cam conversion thread/sub section available.

Have done the TC conversion myself into a Starion track/race car using the Starion 4g63 block and VR4 head. If doing again I would use the Evo 3 head option instead as inlet runner better suited for torque than VR4 version (inlets are massive on VR4).

Check this and the Austarion website and gather your thoughts. I would also recommend the front Thermostat outlet option rather than rear.I did the rear outlet option at the time and had an adaptor kit made for a group buy at the time but in hindsight and wiith Bill's experience feel the rear outlet option is more messing around than needed. Front outlet is way cleaner and easier.

Much info and experience to help you on both sites.

Hope that helps

Cheers
Greg
