Well I thought I'd post a build thread for my planned 4G63t swap and introduce myself and the "victim."

I bought a heap of a 1988 Mits. Mighty Max as a daily driver when my turbocharged Cavalier kicked the bucket and put me in a pinch. It was lowered slightly and had 18" Titans, but all of the work was done very poorly.... very. I've since rebuilt the entire front suspension/ steering system, bandaided the stock G63 engine and added some personal touches like the rusted-out exterior.

My plans are to finish up my current project (3.8L supercharged Cavalier :D ) to relieve this little pickup from daily driver status to project truck. It already has the manual transmission that I need, but that's about it. I'm currently on the hunt for a candidate motor at my preferred parts yard. More than likely, I'll end up with a 1G 7-Bolt N/T unless a turbo model shows up at some point. My power goals aren't astronomical, so a 6-Bolt isn't a very strong requirement.

I work as a machinist, so I plan to do a lot of fabricated/ machined components such as turbo manifold, intake manifold, headlight velocity stack, t-stat housing relocation, etc.

Here are some pictures of "Terk" in his current state, anxiously waiting for a new heart:

COOOL man.. Keep us posted on your build.

I went with a different 'route' on my 1-ton max. It's a '95 magnum 5.2/NV3500 and 'yota' hubs and rear axle (3.73) with the quest rims. I need to use it for a heavy load pulling mini-truck for my business

Keep me in mind when you do your intake. Are you going to 'flip' it?
Are you thinking a top mount manifold?

Is it a power steering truck or 'arm-strong'? i did the Montero power steering self contained pum/res and had to custom bend/fab my lines around the back of block.
But, will be going back to non-power box.

My truck has manual steering (call it a weight reduction lol). As far as the intake, I plan on fabbing my own from aluminum since I'm a CNC machinist by day.

Recently I scored a 1991 Talon N/T engine for $200 locally. I'm working on cleaning parts since it was disassembled when I bought it.

The first parts I've made are a pair of -6 AN fuel rail adapters. Next will probably be a t-stat block off plate and flanges for the intake/ exhaust manifolds.

The parts list also now includes a used SAAB intercooler (that I may sell/ trade) and a rebuilt LSD from eBay. No more one wheel peels!

update:

I fitted an Evo IX intercooler with ease.... almost like Mitsubishi made it for the Mighty Max haha.

Also, I picked up an older Turbonetics turbocharger for a good price, just working on identifying the model to find a compressor map.
