Some people have removed there front axels from all wheel drive cars. Most blow up there rears in short order. I have seen posts from austrialia where they go through the rwd swap in galants and say the parts are cheep enough to swap out when they break.
Get a rear from a rx-7 or 300zx if you want independent suspension. It may take som more welding to put it in, but it will work longer than the talon rear.
