What wiseco pistons
Hey guys.
I am doing the DOHC conversion, with the 4G64 wideblock 6 bolt SOHC 8V block. I have 100mm Eagle Rods, and need to know what wiseco pistons will suit.
Would these suit?

Obviously it depends if I need to bore out the block more etc. But is this what I am looking for?
I want to use the stock 4G64 crank with a VR4 DOHC 4G63 head and my eagle rods (same ones from a 4G64 block).

I am not set on wiseco's. I prefer CP pistons. I had a set of CP forged pistons until today as they were for a 4G63 2.0 DOHC build which I changed my mind from. So I sold them and want to get the 2.4 pistons. All I want is forged pistons that don't rattle and will last.
Anyone know where I can get a set would be AWESOME

im working on the same set up and have been eyeing these. My local shop has had great luck with these in evo's making around 800 hp different rods tho.

Oh, btw, I have built MANY, Ford 460s, for MANY years.
HP boat engines.

Using the TRW, H.C. forged pistons were ID to what came in a Speed Pro
box. Whom actually built them? Don't recall, Don't matter.
When they first came-out, the cut for the intake valve (2.14" intake valves)
was very close to the top grove, for the upper ring.
Well, *I*, never had a failure. However, within a couple of years,
they re-designed where the upper groove was, giving it a lil'
THICKER area. (lowerd the ring a lil'?)
Point is: When you punch-out big dollars to a manufactor, and the
product fails (when it shouldn't have) their engineers recieve a "bad
piston", figure-out what went wrong, and fix the problem, ASAP.
There are times,
when their engineers have nothing to do....
but, they want to keep their jobs, so they are ALWAYS looking-for,
ANY improvement, they can make.
Forged pistons that "rattle", no doubt about it, a forging shall EXPAND
further that a CAST, and Hyper-u expand even LESS!
General rule is: For each inch of bore, add .001" for piston clearance.
If they "rattle", especially when the engine is cold, they honed it,
a lil' too far!
OOPS!
Hyper-u engines are built TIGHTER, (good for MPG & emissions & cheaper
, that's all!
)
However, turbos, superchargers, NOS is a NO-NO! Read their manual!
And, because most people won't change their oil, often enough...
that is MURDER, to a tight-fitting, Hyper-u piston, and it shall,
FAIL! Seen it many times!
Why are the Hyper-u so cheap?

Since you are at the risk of loosing your "race" car, you'd built your engine,
as CHEAP AS YOU CAN!
