I have one here-Bill would you have any interest in making a plate? You put them together, and I will get them on something.

NEW 6 speed option- VQ35?? (Calling Bill)
It seems the G35/350z trannys are getting cheap. Seem to be a SOLID 6 speed option-and has pretty strong internals.

its a getrag trans and its supposed to hold lots of power and the best of all is thats its compact too.....
The first thing thought is to try and see how it sits in the starions transmition tunel....then if it doesn't need to chop half of the car off its just a matter of time for bill to make a bellhousing....and request ofcourse

I looked into this a littl myself and it boiled down to this line that I read:
A lot of people in the forums talk about the 350Z trans, the Supra V160(?) trans, the 370Z trans, and the T56. Typically they say to stay with the model that you have but to get a year that was built better. Then if you have the big budget get the '93-01 Supra 6-Speed V160 GETRAC Transmission but they typically run well over $3000.
The T56 is what they suggest for everyone else.
they run around $1200 used for 07-08If I remember correctly 03-05 6 speed trannies on the 350z had a lot of issues with the syncros. Apparently issue was fixed in 2006...

Well I know I row'd the gears with ease at 8k, at that was with a motor than in theory was applying just as much of not more torque tot he shaft than I would be.
If Bill was interested, I would send him the box. Its the best and least expensive modern 6 speed available, and comes with a normal push style clutch set up. Less cost all around.

I can't find any good info on that transmission on the manufacturer. Some manufacturers are notorious for building transmissions with special parts the become NLA within a few years.
An innovative person could take on of Bills adapters, throw a plate adapter on the transmission side and run about anything if the input shaft was long enough.

Just putting some info out for everyone being a recent 350Z owner.
The 03-early04 transmissions have weak synchros on 3-4-5 gears. Used 04-06 transmissions go for about $1k, but a NEW unit can be had for $1800k from Nissan. The 07+ is a different bell housing. However, the internals of all of these transmissions are very strong and can take a beating. 500hp easily and some are holding a lot more.
Used 03-04 transmissions are roughly the same cost of a R154, but there is no cure for the poor synchros and a rebuild is more costly than the upgraded 04-06 new option.
All that being said, I don't know that the bell housing is removable (think it is) and not sure of any physical dimensions making it more viable than the R154 option for us.
