Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

not really. read where he said hes having overheating problems. i posted here earlier that that could be a problem with that kind oif setup. you need the crossflow through the head to keep it cool. thats why i did mine the factory way.

Cant wait to see some photos of your setup. I definatly agree with you on the stock flow of water through the head. 2.6 guys know the head makes the motor.. and cooling makes the head. If you get hotspots in the head you can't tune nearly as agressively before getting detonation from those hotspots.

To do that setup you do have to redrill the steam holes in the back of the block and block 1 of the holes in the front of the 4g63 head and you should have hotspot probs, just get the two gaskets and compare them you will see what i mean!

Brent, do you have more photos? I'd like to have you write whatever... blurb, article... whatever with pictures for the site. I've been meaning to get a User's Cars section for over a year now.

Project Zero is back!

Post by Brent »

Good to see the forum is up and running again.
Wish I could say the same about my car.
I have pulled the motor down again to make sure the heat did not cause damage.
While she is in bits I am changing to stainless valves, some aftermarket cams and adjustable cam gears.
Should be running again within the month.
Hopefully it will stay in one bit for a while after this.
More pics and some details will come soon.

Cheers,
Brent.
