What flywheel?

Okay, just wanted to be sure before I made a purchase that I'm getting the right combo.

I have a 4G64, wide block, 7 Bolt, but it didn't come with a flywheel, and I am bolting to my stock Conquest transmission. I'm pretty sure from reading, that I can use either the FWD or the AWD DSM flywheel (7 bolt) as long as I have it machined for the pilot bearing, and use the corresponding starter. Correct?

And is the Starquest spline count on the disk the same as the DSM clutch?

The FWD and RWD flywheels must be different sizes if Bill Hincher modifies his adapters based on which you plan to use.

It occurs to me that the one you would need would be which ever came from the 7 bolt wide blocks in the 2wd trucks since you are re-creating the setup from the 2wd truck but with a different head.

The vehicle/engine list appears to only show one vehicle listing of a 7 bolt wide block so it kinda narrows the options to none.

Correct, there is a difference, the FWD flywheel is bigger than the AWD Flywheel.

the AWD flywheel is 270mm in diameter, the FWD is 280mm in diameter, they use the same starter and clutch, the difference was the engineers needed to clear the rear drive to the AWD converter

I use the 270mm AWD flywheel on all my stuff because its lighter and the turbo spools faster

I have personally tried an AWD starter in a GST and it does not engage, so there is technically some sort of difference between the two. It worked fine when popped back in my GSX. :/
