Ok, I need some input. I am currently doing a narrow block swap in an 87 mustang notch. I originally planned on a t5 billhousing, but my engine is already at about 450hp and I don't have the funds right now to build a t5. I'm a poor college student, lol. So my question is, is the Toyota 154 a stronger tranny, and is the "billhousing" any cheaper than the t5? He's looking for 550 for a t5 housing w/ disc and bearing. Which is reasonable for what you get, but I'm on a budget.
the R 154 is an excellent choice, the expense is less because you can use a stock 9in Toyota disc from the 22r engine to complete the clutch package, the advatage to the T 5 is the samller size of the trans and the larger sliding yoke to the drive shaft
