No start. Wont crank. Hmm? Video inside

Post by Gamble »

I have a new battery, it's only 2 weeks old. Little one from walmart that matches the car, only 500cca. I been trying to get the car started and had no luck, until the other night I got it to fire up for a second or two before it died. I have had the battery on a charger for a good solid 24hours and still can't start the car. So I figured I would pull my car up to it and put jumper cables on it.
Still it won't crank. Just clicks and the voltage drops all the way down.

Any idea what could cause this?

Starter brushes could be worn out. Could try going straight to the starter with the jumper cables to bypass the battery.

It started to crank seems to be a loose wire. Does that white clip on the coil have to be plugged in to get spark?

Put in 2 new fusible links today, the other 2 didn't match what was in the car. And one had I hooks on both ends.

No start today so I was playing around inside the car to see if all the lights worked and after playing with all the buttons, I hit one of the headlight buttons and heard something prime inside the engine. It was odd, so I figured eh one more shot, turned the key and it fired right up. Odd I know.

It was also bone dry on coolant so I added a little water.
