WTB: 4G64 wideblock...prefer with head...

Post by AustinTSI »

I am looking for a complete 4G64 wideblock. I would love to get a full running motor (head, block, plumbing, intake, etc) but I'll deal with what I can get.

If you know of something/someone, let me know.

Thanks, David.

Send me an email even if you have a head but no block for instance as I might need to get things from several different people.

More details needed.
Preferred new or used?
8v, 12v,16v SOHC, or 16v DOHC and 1g or 2g head? because the wide block only came with 1 type guaranteed 8v sohc head on it, we have to build the other configurations.
FWD or RWD configuration?
Location.

I have a 1g head with about 6000 miles on it since it was rebuilt and reground. New valves and valve springs, 3 step grind, ran 264/264 cams. No thermostat housing, lash adjusters, rockers or cams, with the front freeze plug knocked out for front water exit in RWD configuration.
I spent over $500 on the rebuild and parts that sit in the head as is, would be willing to part with it for $300+shipping to help out with my holiday season

This will be going into a 89 Conquest with the standard 5-speed tranny. Eventually I may go with a different tranny but right now this tranny is good and I have another spare and a spare rear-end also.

I plan on running a Megasquirt for the ignition.

For the head I would prefer a 2G 16v DOHC. But I'm flexible and a good deal on a 1G could easily change my mind.

Is your 1G head a 16v DOHC ?

of course, the 1g part says it all... unless you want my old 8v Max head with nearly 200k on it (cheap)

The 1g head could easily be upgraded with only new valve springs and be capable of 272 or even 280 cams

Hopefully you understand that the 1g is capable of more than the 2g based on port dimensions,, the 1g has twice plus the size intake ports than that of the 2g

1g on top 2g on bottom

I also have an MS1 sitting here since I upgraded to MS3.

Still no one knows where your located, and it seems we have your stuff

Sorry, I forgot that I didn't put my location in my profile which I have now but I'm in Austin, Texas.

I was leaning more towards a 2G head for the volumetric efficiency. This is going to be in a street car and will probably never make it to the strip and I only plan on hitting around 400hp. I have a direct port Nitrous kit but I'm just not sure I'm going to mess with the nitrous and may just end up selling it.

My understanding is that the 2G is a little more steetable and is good for up to 600hp. I like your price but I think I want to get the block first since that seems to be the hard part to find; I am lining something up though.

Is there anything I need to consider if I want to keep the AC ?

Thankx for the info, David.

Dude if your willing to pay for the parts, shipping and my time and effort I know where theres 3 mighty max's with entire engines in tact which means wideblocks... I think i can pick 1 up for like $200-$250 and im in colorado

Youve got your head backward, its like this, you want 400-600 WHP you want 1g for sure but if you want 400 ft.lb of torque youll want the 1g, and thats attesting from pure experience

about the ac... bolt it on ANY 4g6x engine
