Fuel rail connection Q's

Post by tj-xr5t »

Hey kids.

I'm in the deep end of a 4G63 DOHC N/A conversion in a 1975 mitsubishi galant and I need a pointer on the fuel rail connection.

I'm using a Hyundai sonata motor and keeping everything stock (for now) including ECU and the manifold (with the TB on the other end.

When I was stripping the engine out of the Hyundai I didn't keep the fuel line connection into the fuel rail.
Now I've seen a few of these at the wreckers so I know I can get one, problem is, they're a crimp fit onto the fuel line and don't look like they'll fit neatly in the engine bay.
What sort of connections have you guys used?
Keeping in mind that I'm not going turbo, I'm not going to need a bigger fuel rail or any higher pressure rated connections.

Thanks.

Well this is a little lengthy, and likely more than what you want to do but what you want is covered.

This is how I did mine. I got the end billet fittings on ebay, and built the lines with Russel fittings.

I have a hardline to AN for the feed, the FPR also accepts an AN fitting from the otherside of the fuel rail.

Note, I have swapped where the feed enters. On the stock eclipse the feed comes in on cylinder4, now the feed on my system comes in by cylinder 1. I only did this so I had shorter lines and eaiser way to mount the fpr.
