Timing cover suggests timing chain. The head also looks very narrow. A smaller timing gear would reduce the width of the DSM head, but there are a lot of things going on here that don't quite look right like the water pipe, exhaust manifold, and CAS.

On the other hand, there are a ton of things that are very familiar. Look at the coil pack, fuel rail, and TPS sensor. Perhaps this is a special head just put on a Starion engine block or something.

Crazy idea, but, looking at the location of the thermostat and reading that it's a 2.6, i think it could be and astron with a twin cam head!
They made a 2L astron twin cam for some motorsport application but i'm unsure what.
