a couple ideas i had for my 87 ram 50.
i was thinking of scabbing in the entire rear chassis from a 2nd gen montero with the trailing arm setup, sway bar, track bar and disc brakes in place of the ugly stock setup and using a conquest/starion 3.55 third member with lsd...
....but i was thinking the IRS from the conquest/starion would be awesome if it could be adapted. i don't want to lose any track width in the back and swapping to 6 lug setup would be cool so i could run stock mitsu truck wheels. i want to run the 15" version of the original 5 star rims on my 2wd ram 50. an aftermarket drag race style 4 link just doesn't seem right on a daily driver that will see some hard. i want to make it look like it came that way from mitsubishi!
other idea.....is it possible to convert my stock 87 narrow block/6 bolt trans to work with a later 7 bolt narrow block engine? i want to ditch the very lame 2.0, but it seems 6 bolt/narrow block 2.4's are very hard to come by. should i maybe just rebuild my stock 87 2.0 with a stroker crank and bore it out a little bit. i want to be economical with this build and the original trans works fine.
