Supra 5 spd bellhousing
Moderators: DJpowerHaus, mattmartindrift
Was looking around trying to figure out what I'm going to do for my next project and found a company down in Australia that regularly sells in the US that offers a bellhousing to adapt the supra 5 spd box out of the MKIII's to the wideblock bellhousing bolt pattern.

Part number AP20
Not sure on the price, but it opens up a new option for transmissions that can be easily adapted.

Heefner actually has this kit if you want to ask him more about it. I'll post some pictures of his setup as soon as I find the photos. I think I left them at home.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.
We had the r154 in the STOCK Grand Am Cup IS300s on Team Lexus and they broke all the time.
(By stock I mean PecTel Computers and blueprinting, and Hoosier Slicks, but that's it.)
For as much as you'd spend on the Supra 6 speed Getrag, you could get an RX7 setup with OS Giken gears and it'd be stronger.

aka DJpowerHaus, who forgot to switch back to the right name.
Hey,
I am looking at putting a w58 supra box in, and also found the rodshop with this adaptor plate. The only problem is getting a bellhousing..... I found that the sigma 2.6lt bellhousing bolts up to the starion block, but its a cable clutch........ Are there any other bellhousings out there that will bolt up to starion box with hydrolic clutch???? Oh yeah the adaption plate sells for about $260Au they need the mitsubishi bellhousing to manufacture.
thanks
Mick

Mazda B2600 Pickup... 87-88. Its a U.S. Market part, hydraulic clutch too! This will allow you to buy an adapter plate to a Mustang T5 transmission. Or you could just use an RX7 transmission, B2600 transmission... or HKS dogbox

Pretty sure its not a 6 speed.... and the 3rd Gen transmissions are actually weaker than the TII 2nd Gen transmissions. It's the same family though, so all this stuff should work with it as well.

Check out my gear ratio calculator! I Googled to find some ratios. You can then even input the rear end ratios you can use and figure out what works best for you.
