I've been lurking around for awhile now and finally decided to make an intro. My name is Justin and I've been working on/with DSMs for the past 8 or so years. I decided it might be nice to switch things up a little and see what these mighty max trucks were all about. I'm a member of New England Club DSM which has a few rwd 4g63 enthusiasts, so seeing their various build threads probably had a lot to do with my getting into this new project.
Earlier this week I picked up a 1990 Mighty Max with 146k on it. All is stock other than the previous owners few mods: Talon bucket seats, Borla muffler, 3" drop(front)/5" drop (rear) and Acura TL wheels with a 6 to 5lug adapter plate. The bed does have a decent amount of rust and I'm undecided whether it is worth saving or just finding a new candidate.
My plans for the Max are to have it running in its stock form (needs a brake line) first. Then, drive it around for a little just to get a feel for things. After that it will be getting the setup from my Talon which is a 2.3L JE/Manley setup w/ a Borg Warner S366et T3 .70a/r and a R154 trans w/ some LSD rear end.
Here's a couple pics of the project.

Nice looking truck! Sounds like your previous ride was a beastly machine. On your steering wheel, what adapter did you use? I 'think' the adapter for the dsm will work, just making sure.

If this helps, I put a steering wheel from a 91 Eclipse on my 85 Dodge Ram50 Custom and it was the same splines and fit fine.
