IHRA Class Question
Next year I am looking to compete locally in bracket racing at an IHRA sanctioned track. I am researching everything I need in order to be 100% legal when I start racing, but I need to know what class the D50/Max falls into. It will be a footbrake vehicle, fully caged, 4g63 with a TH350. If anyone could point me in the right direction with what class I would fall into (hopefully I am understanding it correctly, and would simply fall into the "sportsman" guidelines) I would greatly appreciate it. It will be my first time going out and actually running, so I know I have to get licensed and what not, but I cant really do anything until I know what to sign up for. Thanks guys!

IHRA is for drag racing. I know I'll be fighting the traction battle, but I figure with a good set of 28" or taller by 10.5" wide slicks, the slapper bar set up that I have, and all leaves intact I should be OK for wheelhop and traction. If not, I'll take it from there. But I'm looking to do IHRA bracket racing, just need to know what class I fall into. Thanks!

I already have a 10 or 12 point cage in mind thats 100% IHRA/NHRA legal so thats not the problem. I also have a link to the rule book that contains all the classes and what fits where, but I cant really find anywhere that the truck will fit into. I know its not going to be enough to run with the "top sportsman" class, but I know they also have a sportsman series. I'm just not sure if there is a "Sportsman" class or not. The link to the 2009 book is posted below and I've shot the people at the track an email trying to get their help too. Thanks for the info tho Bill...if you can help me out after I post the Adobe link it'll be great! The truck should also be able to dip into the 10's considering I'm running a ported out Borg Warner GM-8 Turbo, but I dont see it going any lower than that. For traction, i'll be running either the 28 or 30 inch Mickey Thompson slicks (not the radials) so hopefully that'll really help out.
