which year D50 for narrow block 4G63?

Post by provar »

I keep reading I need a D50 gearbox as it is the only thing that will bolt up to my narrow block 4G63.

Can anyone tell me which year D50's had this gearbox or what other cars have them? and anything else I need to know before I buy a box from the wrong model!

I live in australia, here they are called a mitsubishi Triton, if that makes any difference.

Cheers!

i know for sure late 80's to early 90's Ram 50/MM's with the 2.0 and 5 speed are narrow blocks.

whats the deal with the KM132. I'm assuming this is the code for the gearbox in the D50's right? is this stamped on the gearboxes anywhere that can help me make a quick check that I'm getting the right gearbox?

and can anyone narrow down "late 80's to early 90's" at all for me?

Yes, thats the code for the 5-speed narrowblock tranny. Came in trucks from around 86-89, earlier km132 were 4-speed. Can't see anywhere on my spare KM-132 I have sitting in the garage that has the tranny code on it.

Hey guys n gals, I hope you don't mind if I jump in but it's in the same light
I finally got one (km132) from John and tried to bolt it up to a narrow 4g61t and it stops about a half inch away.. :? Bolts look like it should go it but I didn't have time to mess with it and peeked at the g61 fwd input shaft and it looks larger.
How'bout the 2.6 one??

Does one have to use the fwd eclipse/talon flywheel too??
