confused...what gearbox

Post by nmb1022 »

I have been reading on this site to find info for my new project, but i still can't figure it all out

I have bought a 2006 lancer evo fq340 engine and need to convert it to rwd. From what i figure it should be a narrowblock. If it is a narrowblock will any transmission (with 4g63) from a starion fit? I would prefer to use the fq flywheel/clutch/starter since i already have it

anyone who can give some input for my winterproject :)

By the way it's for my Toyota Starlet kp60

The EVO flywheel is 11 1/2 inch and the bolt pattern is different then the 4G63, the lower main bolt on the axle side is raised up about 14mm

ok I see I have to work a little on making a box fit on the evo engine unless Bill is cooking some up for the Evo engine??

But problems are here to be solved and the world needs a Dragstarlet with an Evo engine :!:

Evo's came with both the FQ340 and new-style 4G63, right?

Bill are you taking measurements from and EVO 4G63? I wonder if the dimensions are all the same.

it may be that the bolt pattern is completely different in european models for that matter, I showed him what I have and its up to them to show us what the are dealing with now

what gen. flywheel is mine?? is it too big or what is the problem with it? It would be great to use my own flywheel and just change the clutch

Don't know what clutch I want to use, but i'll make sure it is a push.

But how do i order the bellhouse from you? i'm proberly in the USA sometime early next year, but i can't wait that long ;-)

I have shipped all over the world, it is not a problem, it costs abot $130.00 USd to denmark

The EVO flywheel was too large to fit my housings, and many members wanted the smaller diameter flywheel, so I built the housing around the smaller diameter flywheel

the clutch on the EVO's were a 'pull' style clutch, many options are available for the 'push' style clutch, so I used that to our advantage by installing clutch controls for the push style
