Axles/Steering/Braking - 1973 Dodge Colt RWD

Post by Geneyes »

Anyone done any mods to the steering and or braking on the early Colt RWD?

What about rear end swaps (with disc brakes) to handle more power?

What about front spindle/strut swaps for larger rotors/calipers?

Thanks in advance,

Go with a ford 8.8 rear diff, may require some fabrication but that will be a very nice setup.

Thanks to those that responded.

I signed up for ClassicColt but I cannot receive the activation email or password reset email. Then there is no email address for an admin to help me. Anyone know the administrators email address so I can ask him to fix my account?

Thanks

Thanks everyone.

Yes, I am now into the Classic Colt site and finding great information.

As for the rear axle, I am a long time welder/fabricator. I was thinking of the Ford 8.8 or Toyota (third member type) of axle originally. But prefer to find the correct width and only need to modify the mounting. Of course, gearing choices are a consideration along with strength.
