Hello Everyone, I wanted to take some time and introduce myself. I just happened onto this site, when a neighbor of mine started to sell his 1987 Dodge Conquest. I am currently on the finishing touches of my fully built 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse. My Eclipse stills looks like stock, except for the 3" exhaust. Inside there's a 16g turbo, 560cc injectors, .020 over Wiseco pistons and 272 cams. I want to do the same with a Starion/Conquest. My neighbor wants $1000 for the Conquest. The current motor in it is dead.
Here are some pics of the car.

I also found a Motor and auto trans from an 89 Mighty Max. If I jump into this, I want to go all in. I plan on doing the 4g63 head. I like the platform being that I just finished one. Is the price a good price he is asking for the car? Thanks guys

how solid is the undercarraige? how many miles? any rust on the body at all? since you are going to build a motor for it anyway, i would mostly concern yourself with the rest of the car.

Bing this is a South Texas car, I'm not too concerned with rust. We do get much of that down here. The car is mine if I want it. He is just so stubborn on the price. The thing is, I have not been able to find any Starions/Conquests in my area anywhere that is advertised. This car is not advertised.

a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. im sure i overpaid for my Duster when i bought it- but i loved the car and now i couldnt ever sell it. in the respect youre already doing better than me- that car is at least a solid foundtation....

If you cannot find any others in your area, the higher price may not be too bad as you will not have to drive across the country to pick it up. Good luck with it :)
