The reason I ask is I can't seem to find any info on the starion sites.
I want to do some track work and would rather have one instead of risking a lean out and blowing an engine.
Im thinking about mounting one between the fuel tank and diff. I can't mount it in the boot (trunk) for legal reasons (want to keep it road legal).
Ive made up a cardboard one thats kind of L shaped so a second pump mounts to the bottom of the tank. And then the whole thing bolts to the under side of the spare wheel well. The factory starion pump will be used as a fuller pump.
Any one done a simliar set up? Pics would be great.

but what I think you are talking about is a remote resivour for fuel to be stored with a seconadry fuel pump installed.

I would aviod the second fuel resivour for the following reasons
Its important to route the return line from the fuel pressure rail into the rear fuel tank, because it does two things, it keeps the under hood temp of the fuel low and it preheats the fuel returning to the tank
preheated fuel tends to release higher BTU's in the cylinder
the other thing I would consider is that at high pressure you loose volume, so the lower /high pressure offers more volume, so if you arrainged two high volume/ high pressure fuel pumps in parrellel with two large fuel lines, you should have no problems,
the last consideration would be to mount the rear fuel tank as high as you can with external pumps as low as you can to make sure the pumps are fully primed
mounting the gas tank high , behind the rear seat should help you do everything yoiu want

The reason I want to do this is to avoid fuel starvation caused by the gas in the tank going to one side as you corner at high Gs (around a track).
As far as I can see it wouldn't matter how high you had the main tank this would happen.

The second pump would suck from the bottom of the fuel reservoir which would almost always be full (the only time air would get in there is when the factory pump sucked up air from corning with a low main tank) The return from the engine would go to the fuel reservoir as a second fuel source. Then there would be a return line from the top of the fuel reservoir back to the main tank. This return from the fuel reservoir to the main tank would get any air out of the tank (and excess gas) and force it back to the main tank. There by keeping the fuel reservoir almost always full of gas. And even when air is in the tank its at the top of the tank, no where near the second pump.

my understanding was you use a low pressure /high volume to feed the resivour, not the original high pressure pump, this would require and external pump between the rear supply tank and the resivour
then the high pressure pump is mounted in the resivour
then mount the resivour near the C/G of the car to avoid the effects of centrifical force
remeber one thing, one gallon of fuel produces the same explosive power of 2 sticks of dynamite

Do the surge tank. I recommend it. Its best to make it a tall cylinder. Not sure where you'd put something this shape into a starion, but between the diff and the fuel tank seems doable and safe.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.
