4g63t head on a 4g64 wide block?
Does the 4g63t head fit on the 4g64 wideblock from the truck motors? I know most people do the 4g63/64 hybrid with the narrowblocks from the eclipses. I have a crashed 4g63t eclipse that has just front end damage, but spared the engine. This is the first time i've done a swap before, but have friends that can help me and guide me. So looking to do something as simple as it can be done. Just want to make use of my wrecked car.

Having made a 4g64t Thinblock (FWD/AWD cars), I seem to recall that you have the choice for EITHER belt, but if you use the 3 belt, you have to use the smaller cam gears; if you use the 4 gears, you need a belt that is one notch (?) larger. The 4g64 blocks are just a tad taller. 1/4" I think. I seem to recall that your cam degree timing is affected because of this. I & my shop wound up using AEM adjustable gears (yes they make 4g64 gears). It's been three years since it was put it together. You will NOT be able to use stock injectors, turbo or fuel of course. You are building a torque monster & it wants to be fed!

You have to use a 94 galant 4g64 dohc belt or a 4g64 sohc belt. The 4g63 belt will be too shorter with the added 6mm deck hight
If you go to the project zero g home page and look in the part numbers section in the drop down menu under 4g6x swap you it will give you both belt options and part numbers

That's the one we used.
However, there are two or three guys with strokers on the DSMLink site that have sworn to me that they've used 4g63 belts, but ran different size gears to make up for the height. I didn't like the idea of messing with any ratio that's already been engineered in, so we used the Galant belts with the AEM gears.
