Hello,

My name is Ethan. I am new to swapping the 4g setup. I recently owned a fleet of 1g dsm's. No kidding i had 5. All but one were turbo. I now have an 87 conquest that I will be stuffing one of these into. I have aquired a wideblock 2.4 out of a 96 mighty max. It is a seven bolt. oddly enough I dont have any of the dsm's any more to remove parts from.

I have a few plans for this car and hope they all work out. I have recieved alot of info from this site already in the last few days and hope to give some back along my journey.

EXCELLENT! They do have a wideblock 7-bolt! Does it also have the main girdle that the 7-bolts have? Take some good pics so we can compare them with 2G turbo blocks and see if there are any differences. I've been waiting to see if anyone could find a wideblock 7-bolt to swap.

Ya I'm pretty excited myself. I have had the car for about a month now. I was in the middle of buying a stock running 2.6 when I found the info for the swap about 4 days ago. The day I made this post is the day I got the engine!! The only thing I havent found out yet is which flywheel and starter to use. Did the starion have a 7bolt or would a use a fwd or awd dsm piece.

As for the cradle yes it is the same as the dsm 2.0. I was acually suprised it was a 7bolt as that hadn't even crossed my mind. Other than my buddies 2g I was never in contact with one. All mine were the 6. All on all it is identical other than the taller deck hight, well and the head. But taking it aprt brought back memories. I will get on the pics soon as I figure out how to use this D@*M blackberry...lol. My cam broke but the phone has great quality.

I am now looking at buying an awd 1g with a BHG. Hope the head is ok. They are only good for 12mm shave and I have seen them go past that pretty quick. Plus my buddy is trying to buy it from under me

Daviticus Where are you at. Other than mine I have only seen one other and it was not in great shape. Well niether is mine but it's nothing I cant handle. Hoping to have it ready by summer but not sure how thats gonna play out if I cant get this car.

My uncle has a machine shop at his house so I should be able to talk him into making me whatever I might need, I hope. He doen't seem to think a four cylinder can make that much that much power. Even though every one tells him my eclipse was crotch rocket fast, but I attribute most of that to the AWD. Not many people around here know much about it other that the subies round here.

I do think your right about being the only one here with one.

Have you been to Miller Motorsports Park yet. I love it there. I used to take my supra there. Very pleased!! Have they started allowing drift there? guess I could check the site... lol. So are there any more near you?. That really isnt to bad of a drive for a decent meet.

Absolutly, and let me know too. I hope to be going by summer. If I get this dsm for parts. I would be willing to drive there. I know where most stuff is too. Been going to the whole wasach front for about the last two years off and on.
