Evo engine?

Post by maxel »

Well I know of this cheap Starion which has a roll cage and the body is in pretty decent state, it has no engine and gearbox.
But I have an E30 Touring 325i and I've been thinking of,if I'ts not that difficult, to sell the E30 and buy the Starion and a "newish" Evo motor to swap into the Starion. Maybe from an Evo 6...7 or an 8....
Someone been there?
Btw, which tranny should you use in that case? Must be a manual as I like drifting.

Stick to a 6 bolt wideblock ... 2.4L with a Starion transmission. What's the big draw with an Evo motor when you can build a 6 bolt for the price of a stock evo motor?

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.
