I was wondering if anyone would help me get started on info, refering to rally racing. I think it is an interesting sport and would love to do it. I would either get a starquest or get a 1g awd. Does anyone have experience with rally racing? Btw, Im not ready to build a rally car just yet but i would like to start getting into it. sounds like a fun topic lets have fun :lol:

::edit::
heres a cool link i found on a rally site... apparently these coilover kits are one of the best in the world, (i wouldn't know so dont quote me) also they have em for starions and dsm's they are amazing design and are only offered out of the country ( i think) the ones they make for 1g's are rally setup and fully adjustable.

Good to see another rally fanatic. I am totally obsessed with it. Mainly with the old Group B stuff.

My advice to get started is to get the 2 or 3 of the cheapest old FWD piece of junk, add safety equipment to one, and use the other 2 for parts. Most of the people you talk to will say to work on your driving skills in a slower car.. dont build a monster and not know how to drive it.

By far the best place to really get some info is www.specialstage.com . The guys there KNOW their stuff and they understand the meaning of an online community. You often see factory (Subaru) drivers answering tech questions personally.

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

Looks like they only offer street struts for flatbodies.. and it has a ** which means it needs to be installed by Speedworks... in Selangor Malaysia.

Oh well. McPhearson struts are pretty easy to figure out. I'm putting Nissan 240SX coilovers on my car... you could probably do WRX stuff, DSM stuff.. lots of options. A welder helps.
