Hey everyone hows it going, I've been looking around this site for about 6 months and finally decided to register as I'm getting more serious about my project car.

I'm swapping a 4g63 into my 87 conquest TSI, which i got for free from a friend. (saved it from the recycle yard too, aint I lucky) I picked up the car with a hole in the block and no head.

The motor and harness I have are out of a 92 TSI AWD, and I have an EEPROM ECU which will eventually be dsmlink'd. I've located a W58 trans and plan on using the "billhousing" to run it.

The car is in the process of being painted right now. I have chosen the Graphite Metallic Pearl off of an evo 8 like this one:

I've been into DSMs for over 4 years. My most recent project is my 97 eclipse GST:

I don't have those rims anymore

Last year I dyno'd at 429whp @28psi and 370tq on E85. A month afterwards my front differential exploded so I installed a Quaife and built the motor to handle more abuse. I plan on hitting the dyno up again at 36psi and race gas, looking to touch the 600whp mark. I need to buy DSMLink and my Bosch 044 inline before I'm ready for that much boost. It's on 26psi right now and nearly impossible to drive due to torque steer.

I also have a 92 Mighyty Max that I'm planning on doing a 4g63/64 hybrid on in the distant future. Here's a pic of the whole family

enough of that though, I'll probably end up making a build thread soon anyway

Welcome to the board!

It looks like you are off to a running start with project, the graphite pearl is a very nice color. Keep the pics coming :)

Other than the motor, what is wrong with that Conquest. It looks way to nice to scrap. I guess we all have different priorities and opinions on what's junk and what's not.

Are you going with a stock block build for now? What are your plans with the car? I'm sure you have the 4G63 knowledge to build a nice car. Feel free to pass on any of that info you think we might need. (like upgrading the front diff on a 400hp FWD car :D )
Do it in a Datsun!

Everything was perfectly fine on the Conquest aside from the motor. Theres very minor body damage from the front, you can see it from the pic. ITs just that flimsy piece of metal above the front bumper.

The only problem that I can point out is that nobody knows where the title is. It's not that difficult to apply for a lost title though. Other than that, this guy has had the only 3 conquest/starions i've ever seen in my life, he was just tired of it sitting i guess.

As for the motor, it will be stock for now. the goal is just to get it running and driving first :D. Minimal mods will be done to the 6 bolt I have for it, probably 272 cams, dsmlink, and a decently sized turbo maybe a evo3 16g or a 20g. Eventually I would like to build a motor for it that can handle a GT4094, but I should probably graduate college first.

Sure thing :) I have a lot to learn from everyone here about doing the swap and I would be glad to return the favor any way possible.
