WTB: 2.0L Truck Power Steering Pump and Bracket + 1G parts
I'm looking for some parts for Craig's swap:
1G Alternator + arm.
Pickup truck power steering pump and brackets.
1.8L Galant water neck.
I need some photos of the Power steering pump and bracket bolted to a 4G6s block. Can anybody help with that?

Getting the engine bolted in is about 10% of the way there.
The next 80% can go quickly with help and skill.
That last 10% takes about as long as the 90% that came before it.

Mike, when I swapped the 88 d50, I was not able to use the ps pump on it, but I was using a d50 water pipe and pump. I cannot remember what it looked like, but the sohc brackets would not work and the dohc brackets were right in the path of the water pipe. I just swapped to a manual steering gear for it.

I put power steering on my mightymax for a while using a 1G DSM power steering pump and reservoir with a custom bracket where the AC Compressor mounts on the 4G63. It broke off my HEAVILY reinforced pump bracket every 1000 miles or so, and generally made me want to punch stuff. After getting pissed at it one day, I yanked it all off and put manual steering in it. If you make a nicer (stronger) bracket, it would likely work well, but sadly, I was not patient enough to come up with a solid one. Seriously though, make sure you overkill the thing when you make it.

Was there power steering on any of the 2.0 / 2.4L trucks? I'd be amazed if none of them had it. Maybe it was in a different position than on the DSM?
We're doing A/C on Craig's car so the bottom/intake corner of the engine is taken. The only place left is the stock DSM position or somewhere near there.
I was thinking of using a 1/2" plate using the lower 2 bolts and adding a leg to it that will bolt to the top of the head or water pump to handle the tension from the belt.

Which bracket do you mean? There is a cast one that was also part of the engine mounts for the DSM. It uses 4 bolts to bolt to the block. Then there is a thick sheet metal bracket that the actual pump bolts to. It bolts to the cast bracket using two bolts and has a nut holding a heat shield to it.
The DSM's cast bracket cannot bolt to the block with the truck heater hose pipe. This is why I'm trying to find out what the truck's do to mount the power steering pump.
Do the trucks bolt the pump to the SOHC head?

The 1G DSM power steering bracket mounts in a location that is not available on my engine. You guys could probably still use it though. If you do put the power steering pump there, the hoses would also be extremely long, cluttering your engine bay. I am about 90% sure that the 2.6L or 2.0L (truck) power steering brackets won't bolt to the 4G63. I forget exactly why, but I checked in the junkyard one day, and saw that it was not easily do-able.
