About my Ecu

I am plaining on running my stock dsm ECU and im wondering if you can do this, cause they talk about useing a stand alone in this write up, i dont know if im over thinking this and ask a stupid question but can someone clear this up for me.

You can use the factory ecu. If, in the future you want to go beyond the capabilities of the "stock" ecu, you can get your hands on an eprom ecu and have it socketed and run an eprom burnt for your setup, or go with dsmlink.

If you are using the mitsu ecu, you should have the capacitors changed before they leak all over the board(if this hasn't already started).

There are a ton of ECU options. If you need to ask the question whether you need a standalone or not, you're going to need some help. Sticking with the stock ECU is a good idea to get started. You can go from there once you learn what you're doing and your budget increases.

Like stated earlier, the stock ECU is terrific for getting your project running an all, or if you dont see yourself really trying to stretch the envelope.
So to each their own :). If you hellbent on using it cause that's all you have right now, you'll be fine.
