Well finding this hotrod made me give up on converting my 89 colt hatch to AWD. (Besides my friend Craig has pretty much perfected it already.)
My goal for this winter is to have the chassis complete on the car. Planing on a 4 link with ford 8.8 sporting 315/50/15s Going to try to get a retro Japanese look with the car with a touch of pro touring muscle car look. A long way to go
Ray, your goals seem very similar to mine. I have had an 8.8 sitting around for sometime now, and will be throwing it in this winter. I am still unsure as to whether or not I will be going with just a simple ladder-bar setup or full 4-link.
I also plan on doing a little old school jdm mixed with good 'ole american muscle. I can't wait to see how yours pans out.
PS, a ladder-bar setup allows more ground clearance to slam a car than 4-link, correct? I really want my car nearly on the ground, even if it sacrifices a little traction at the track.
PPS, I still love your car. It is totally the twin of mine.
Thanks for the complements everyone. I am going to try to be very in dept in documenting this build. From what I have learned with helping Craig out with both of his AWD colts. 4 link is the way to go. The ladder bar would work fine but the adjust ability is not there. As far as I know you really aren't limited by either when it comes to ride height. I know with the 4 link you will defiantly lose more of your rear seat area due to the upper bars.
