87 dodge raider engine transplant
I have an 87 dodge raider. It has an automatic tranny that I want to leave in. The engine is worn out so I was thinking of putting in an efi engine from a 90 to 93 mazda b2600. I don't know if it is a wideblock or not. If it is, will the G6 2606 efi fit this tranny? Has any one put in a different engine in a montero or raider?
Chrysler had some kind of deal with Mitsu that all their products had to be sold as Chrysler products up here. I don't know when the agreement ended, but I never saw a Mitsu dealer in Canada until the late 90's. Chrysler didn't sell many models either so the supply is limited of what they did. You're lucky that the States didn't have the same deal or there would no cars availablle now.
I am going to start looking for a D50 with the 2.4 4g64 wideblock as per Smog's reco. I was going to put in a mitsu turbo diesel out of a d50 but they are really rare. Most of them have been crushed because the trucks rusted out so bad.
Back to gas as long as it's fuel injected

DOHC or SOHC? If it's DOHC I'll take the chaincase off you!mondo wrote:I have an 87 dodge raider. It has an automatic tranny that I want to leave in.
