WTB 2.6 std bearings r/m??

Post by 77amc »

Hey, if anyone has some layn around that they won't be using..
Just standard sizes ROD and MAIN bearings needed for the 2.6 G54b engine.

Well, and freeze plugs also. I'm having trouble finding them, and need to build this thing and have it in by next week.

Thanks. Errol

Thanks Kane, I've been to his site but I'd like to get the price down lower.
I can get that price here without shipping.
If I would have just bid on the whole set on Ebay a few weeks back I'd have them now. :(

I got a screeming deal from Northern auto parts. (Jessey runs it on Ebay also)
Freeze plugs for like 4.00
Mains for around 23.
.75mm over rings, 2.6 for around 15.00
NEW Buick V6 front cover with HV oilpump for 49.00 (another project.. That was the first choice for the quest. A 4.1L from a Riv)

They sell alot on Ebay but if you call him he can pull the parts up to see if they're in stock.

He was going to order me a set of Hicomp pistons for the 4AGE in my mr2 but mine looked great.
I mean, who else would have those for around 25 each??

Just my .02 E

I looked into the supercharged 3800 for the quest swap after I got it.
Found a site www.stalkerV6.com that make a 'locost' type of kit using that 3800 supercharged engine.
GM 2.5 Bellhousing
GM camaro/firebird clutch assy and trans..

All pretty affordable except the co wanted 1500.00 (yup not 150.00) for a stripped down version of the wire harness to run the motor. I told them that they were asking more than my whole project put together!! (parts wise)

I could still make the V6 work, but then still have a few GM autos rebuilt layin around and a sbc 406 that should be around 430hp wrapped in plastic that was supposed to go in my 72 monte. (sold)
Then I find Project0 and messed it all up.
We have a place here that sells second hand 'racing' or HP stuff and just happen to pick up a draw-through turbo setup like what was used on the late 70's/early 80's 301 Firebirds for a measley 75.00.
So If I go that route of the v6, i'll think that way.

I placed it up to the 2.4 motor and it's only about 3" longer with the water pump/pulleys. And DOESN"T have to be moved up 2-3" with the dizzy up front.
That would be a hoot! ALmost a GN drivetrain (Already have the 200r4 sitting also)

man, I just jacked myself up..

The housing may have come today, I didn't look by the front door..

You might want to do some searchin for some specific sites on the supercharged 3800 and see if they are easy to adapt to 'other' applications.
I know, I see them for sale cheap on the bay, maybe some of the peeps selling would know too.

From what I remember seeing the 'charger' removed, it looked kinda funky holes into the intake and couldn't make out what was an intake or charged port..

If you didn't spend that much for it just keep it and maybe look at a cut-a-way of Jackson racings' one for Honda engines. It can't be that much different.? Maybe get a 1g 4g intake, machine off the top of it, weld on an adapter plate (after you get the holes straightened out that is..) block off the throttle body etc..

One thing i thought of when I was messing with Old Hondas was to cut a belt groove into the flywheel essentially making a huge drive pulley/gear and just cut holes into the bellhousings for the belt to come through.
Just think the ratio that could make that little 2.5" wheel on that supercharger FLY at pretty low rpms.
It's just that the DSM flywheels are pretty thin. But a ring could always be machined to fit.
