Hey all I am new! I have a 2001 Celica I am going to convert to rear wheel drive with a 4G63 in it. Still disassembling it and doing research on this site as to what trans to use on a narrow block. I hope to keep you all updated and I will post specs of my build later.
Thanks!
Nick

Does the 2001 Celica have any provisions for a rear end? Was the chassis ever offered as AWD in another country or anything. Trying to put a rear end into something that never had one is a big challenge. I wish you the best and please post some pics of the progress.
Do it in a Datsun!

they had an AWD celica by fenn sport a while back, i dont personally know if it has provisions out back, ( it had to at the end, thats why the rear is hung there)but like Jeff said Please post some pics or ideas on here.if it does work out it would be pretty interesting.
I know a lot about everything, but i don't know anything about something
Fenn sports 7th gen celica was a full tube chassis. It had the whole drive train from a 6th gen Gt4 Celica. 3S-GTE motor and driveline.
My 7th gen never had provisions but the Mk3 rear end is close to being bolt on. The biggest hurdle is bracing for the rear end, but since it's an IRS the axle itself is selfcontained. Also, the 7th gen is so low they made a tunnel for the exhauist so the sheetmetal work SHOULDN'T be too too out of reach.
Hell a GT35R 6bolt and a STOCK WEIGHT! 2,463lb car will be quite a wonder thing in a RWD platform.
