I am with you on the water pump Menace... That confounded me the first time I saw it... and I thought Chevy was the only one to do stupid designs like that.

I can't stand the piss poor timing chain covers on small blocks. THank goodness for LS based motors. mwaahahahah!

I got a set of flow matched 650's off ebay from a company that does a lot of tuner stuff... was dumping some stock and I almost stole them. I totally sniped the bid war that was going on. hehehe.

I am still running in near 75% duty on the injectors...

Yea.. I had to either turn up my FP or get bigger injectors. I got the bigger injectors...

I am sure yours will make more power, but the 510's will still be enough to get you in trouble.

You gotta get a video of a few times through the gears.

Crank to cam timing should be easy to check too... I know it was a little hard for me to see when I was doing it all again while in the truck, but the marks are there big enough for me to feel. I did a balance shaft removal kit at the same time too.

WOW! only 6 degrees? that seems low.

The accelerator enrichments shouldn't be the issue as long as you are not getting any bad stumbles / hesitations. It should still make power... I just roll into mine slowly and when it hits boost, it breaks the wheels loose easy in second gear rolling.

You...boost leak from hell. You should be doing rolling burnouts like me easy. The whole VR signal issue baffles me too. That should not happen ever.

I have a little leak somewhere from the front of mine too, but I keep it parked in the grass and rarely drive it since I have a stable of 5 vehicles ...

All the extra crap on racks gets in the way when hitting the big holes and monster ruts I like to ride in.

The 510's will make you some power... enough to eat up 1'st, 2'nd, and most of 3'rd. I hope you got a Posi.

Regarding the signal for the alternator / regulator... I honestly do not know for sure. I have not even touched mine other than to remove it and put it back in the same place it was ...

Nice video! It sounds like it was missing on one cylinder. Mine did the same thing till I swapped in all new plugs.

SOunds like you got it fiogured out then... I like the MSD stuff I use on my other toys.... I just went as cheap as possible on this one.

The Ignition settings I used and that you got all came from a tune I had found on the Symtec site for a 4g63.

There are specific settings for dwell and timing that have to be right or the transistor will do exactly what you had happen.

Unless I misread previous posts, you changed to new drivers rather than the one that was on the MS originally...

I just get my relays and such out of parts bins I have had for years from other electronics projects... but you can get the stuff at Radioshak. SPST DPDT and everything in between.

Just make sure you get one that will handle the current draw. I overkilled mine with a spare 60 amp relay, but a 15 or ...

FWIW, I used the old fuelpump out of my 05 GTO and just wapped it over to the Mighty Max. I know it supported 450+ hp so it will do just fine for what I am making in the Max.

I hooked my fuel pump up just like Menace and it works great. I did put big wires on it to be sure there was no voltage loss ...

OMG! I went through two of your issues exactly.

1. The ground wire for the ignitor.... had to redo mine too
2. I knew the fuel pump would need the MS to run it since the stock ecu would only prime it thanks to reading some other build threads.

Great news! Glad you got it. It is down hill now.

I know you are irritated with the whole thing... I got that way too and that's why it took me almost 2 years to the day to finish mine to a running state.

There is nothing wrong with taking a break from a project before you really get pissed. ... even a few days can help doing something else ...

EDIS is more work... I hear really good things about it once it is setup, but it certainly is not as easy as swapping a 1g.

If I did not tell you before, I used a 10 pound maul to make the necessary adjustments on my firewall to fit it.

Just an idea... I'm had the Git-R-dun attitude on that one!

Regarding the fan, you will be able to run it, but it will be marginal... of course, I live in the deep south, and it gets a real damn warm here too.

Yeea!! you need the pullup circuit and then it will work... I did the same thing when I started on mine.

Also, I have the same little issues with waterleaks, but I have the parts to fix it right now....just no time.

I use the Megasquirt to control spark and fuel... so, yes! as long as you have the correct circuit modification in the proto area of the MS board and the right Firmware, you can trigger / control the ignition fully.

diyautotune.com has all the necessary information and even any parts you might want.
