whats the deal with the KM132. I'm assuming this is the code for the gearbox in the D50's right? is this stamped on the gearboxes anywhere that can help me make a quick check that I'm getting the right gearbox?

you should be able to select a belt from a catalouge fairly easily as they are only made to standard lengths.

looks good mate! what do you plan on doing about a belt for it or will the stock one still fit?

hey guys, I need to know what wiring and bits I need to get from a wrecked 89 galant (thats what the motor came from).

My plan is to make it as easy as I can, I would like to use the 4G63's dash, key&barrel, fuse box, relays etc to run the motor, and leave all the lights etc on the corolla's loom ...

you know how there is two pieces, one sits inside the other with a taper.

you shave the back off the outter one so that the taper's hit each other and not the flat faces at the edge.

dont shave a lot, just enough to get the job done.

you mean 5-10mm smaller in diameter?

I keep reading I need a D50 gearbox as it is the only thing that will bolt up to my narrow block 4G63.

Can anyone tell me which year D50's had this gearbox or what other cars have them? and anything else I need to know before I buy a box from the wrong model!

I have a narrow block FWD 4G63, I was not aware I could use the truck clutch disc with the fwd pressure plate and flywheel. is the truck disc the same diameter as the one that came on my motor?

I'm a bit late, but thought some of you would like to know...

you CAN shave the synchro's down to help shift better. A friend of mine who is a fitter and turner, did it to his daughters honda prelude instead of buying new ones. when from absolute SH$t to shifting like new!
