I'm trying to pop the retaining clip off of the top of the starter to change the gear, but cannot for the life of me get it to come off. I asked a friend if we should disassmble the starter and he said no veeery firmly. Just curious how you swapped out the gear? Thanks!

Ok...I think I said that I got the DSM buckets in, but if not...I got the DSM buckets in...lol. They are from a 92 N/T that I had in my GSX as they were lighter than the others...I mounted them by removing the crossbar thats spot welded in, drilling through the cross bar and running grade 8 bolts ...

What I did for mine was to cut an ebay t3 manifold at the flange, flip the flange upside down, and had it rewelded. Wow...I'm glad I dont have to deal with that, but I am clueless with wiring, so this is gonna be a challenge anyways. But I figure if I can knock everything else out, I should be able to figure that out too. As far as the coupler goes, try the ol hairspray trick. I've always found it to work...:)

LOL. Glad I can help. If you get the ebay manifold, just make sure you brace the turbo/downpipe somewhere like the eclipses/evo's do from the factory to keep as much weight off the manifold as possible. The stock evo 8/9 turbo hit on the inlet side at the upper balance shaft casting. Hope this helps ...
